macOS OpenVPN Manual Setup Guide
MacOS has many third-party OpenVPN clients that you can use to connect to Vector Link servers. We recommend using the official OpenVPN client - "OpenVPN Connect". You can download it from its website here.
Installation
Once you have downloaded and launched the installer, it will ask you to select the version compatible with your hardware. For users with an ARM chip (M1 or later), choose the one for Apple Silicon on the right. Otherwise, choose the one on the left for Intel.
Follow the instructions to install the app.
Getting the configurations
Log in to the Vector Link User Panel, in the Devices tab, click the Download Configuration button under the OpenVPN section.
You will download a zip file containing the OpenVPN configuration file for each server.
Double-click on a file and a dialog should open from the OpenVPN app.
Select the "Save Password" checkbox. You will need to enter a username and password to continue. Use your Vector Link username and password from "VPN Credentials" (see screenshot below), NOT your account password. Click "Connect" to continue.
You may see this "missing certificate" warning. Simply check the "Don't show again" box and click Continue.
Connecting
Turn the toggle on to connect and off to disconnect. You can also control it from the tray icon at the top right of your screen.
